Be a literate

Once the voice of  heart urged one to be a literate. The brain smirked and muted the heart saying "I am already a literate." It listed out few human languages and machine languages in which he can read, write and understand. Unheard, the voice of heart echoed in the chambers, "be a literate of life, not languages, read your life, write your life, understand your life.

Take a pen and paper and start writing your life, your thoughts, about yourself. You will discover unheard facts, untold stories about you, all these days censored by the brain. If you think that writing is unnecessary and all this stuff can be done in the brain itself then I should say you are either wrong or the one who mastered the brain and can listen to your heart all the time. Even then I suggest you this method as being a literate is a life long process and all continuous processes are better done with a systematized methods. Writing about one self can include writing about one's past or present or even future. It can have your thoughts about surrounding, your desires, your fantasies, your dark fears, deep feelings, reactions to your daily works and incidents. You are not writing your life for a bestseller book or for a blockbuster movie, write for yourself, no one needs to know about you, but you. You ought to know about you, that's what makes you YOU, rather than just a part of you.Writing about self, is one of the processes of finding one's self for which the brain is dead-anti. Self discovering and self developing processes are always strenuous to brain and it will avoid them at all levels. While writing you will discover the needs of your self It can be an appetite of knowledge in a particular subject or it can be a habit or a behavior you want to adopt. It can be anything.

While writing about one's life is knowing about one's self, reading is developing our self or taking our self to the next level in nature. Reading about your life can be achieved by reading books of great personalities, understanding great works of art, observing lives of other human beings, and other living creatures. One can read one self in others work as the other is also a human being who also experienced the same feelings, who encountered the same problems, who passed through the same phase of life  and who wrote about himself and his understanding in his works. The most suggested method of reading your life is reading books and art works as they serve the need perfectly. Novels,  movies and music won't serve the purpose in most cases as they are created to attract your attention rather make you think in a purposeful direction. Reading life through observing the life of others or other creatures is a complicated process as much time is required to cultivate the habit of observing. Observing includes understanding actions and the reasons behind the actions. A study of reason implies studying the nature of the subject and the circumstances around it. Observing is a difficult form of reading because at some point one will find an endless chain of action and reason or one fails to locate the reason or action of something. After writing for a while one may feel, that he has ran out of incidents or feelings in his life. This is where reading helps. It helps to read incidents and feelings in our life.

Understanding the life is 'simple but difficult' process. To understand life one need to both read and write one's life. The reading and writing both mutually update or correct each other if the processes are done regularly.   It is the simple part and this is done unconsciously by the brain because as far as the brain is concerned it is just 'information'. The difficult part is applying the truths and things we learnt  about our life in our daily life. This is termed difficult because the brain doesn't accept them because according to it they are "strayed views". Even if the brain is forced to accept them,  it won't co operate and will reason out with all its rational thinking ability why it is not better 'you being you'. This results of this process are one' outputs in one's profession, day to day activities, thoughts and desires. Understanding is a life long process and there is no teaching and learning here but just studying together. A wise person teach because it is a process of writing about one's self. A student learns because it a process reading about one's life. To be exact, while writing these lines am discovering the unknown me.

What are these Echoes?

The Brain thinks, analyzes and we have a opinion to say, a voice to be heard. The Heart feels and we have a feeling. But what we failed to recognize is that the heart too thinks and that it has a voice behind its feeling.  Unlike the rational thinking of brain, the voice of heart is biased. It is biased towards the life, towards the nature, towards one's self. The rational brain suppressed the biased thinking of heart and termed it as "strayed". The voice of heart being unheard, just kept echoing in its chambers unheard.
